Everybody started looking around the room. Lydia frantically reached into her purse and the beeping stopped.

"Sorry, Ms. Toland," she said. It was at that point that some people noticed Rochelle. Something was eating at her. She was squirming in her seat and her fingernails were tapping on her desk. She wasn't saying anything but she looked like she was about to shoot off into outer space.

Meanwhile Ms. Toland was acknowledging another waving hand. It was Billy again.
