Nothing much else happened that day until after school ended. There was the usual hanging out and flirting and carousing outside of the building. And then everybody headed home.

It was coincidental that Rochelle, Lydia, Veronique, Ahmed, Mun, and Billy were headed in the same direction. They were all walking down the same block, but not together. Rochelle was with Lydia, but they weren't saying much to each other after their little confrontation in the cafeteria. Veronique was a few yards behind them, but her mind was on her after-school job at a nearby clothing store. Ahmed was trying to catch up with her after giving up on Mun who seemed to be doing nothing today but stare at that weird Rochelle. And then there was Billy who was busy thinking about how he was always getting into trouble for just contributing in class.
